Happy Saturday everyone! The weather is beautiful here in NJ. I have a bunch of stuff to do today, starting with a hair appointment. Then, my honey and I are going to check out the suits for the guys for the wedding. Good times! I took a half day from work yesterday and it was great! First thing I did was go to the post office to pick up our calligraphied wedding invitation envelopes. They are just stunning, I will share some pictures with you in another post. I actually plan to review all our vendors and share their info with you.
I was really glad I was home yesterday afternoon because I got a visit from both UPS and FedEx. I ordered a case of Gable gift boxes from PaperMart. I ordered the kraft ones and they will be used as welcome boxes for our guests who are staying overnight for our wedding. I was inspired by a picture I saw in Martha Stewart Weddings. I'm going to tie a wide kelly green and white ribbon around the box and under the handle and make some cute personalized tags to attach to it. I will definitely share pictures of the finished products!
The UPS man showed up with two boxes, one was enormous and I had no idea what it even was. Upon closer inspection I saw that it was from Pottery Barn and I figured it must be a wedding gift! I was good and waiting until my fiance got home from work so we could open it together, that nearly killed me! The gift is from a dear family friend who now lives in Florida and can't make it to my bridal shower next Saturday (yes, I know when it is but nothing else and it is also killing me!) and it is some of our Emma Dishes from Pottery Barn! It is four place settings and I absolutely love it! I ordered the Boatman Geller thank you notes that I previously blogged about and they should be here soon so I can send out proper thank yous!

Favor Fun...

I am using these adorable mini kraft bags for our candy favors. Garnish is a great site for party supplies! I am working with a lovely Etsy seller to make personalized stickers for the outside. Inside will be a sweet treat and a note from us. It's starting to come together!

Guys' Ties...

As the weddding gets closer, I'm really getting into high gear! We still have about 75 days but I want to get as much done day by day as possible. While we were in Westport yesterday we went to Vineyard Vines to pick out the guys' ties. It took us a while, but this is the tie we picked. My honey will be in a dark brown suit with a white shirt. At first we were attempting to pick ties that were more raspberry in color, but after holding up multiple ties over a white shirt, this one looked the best. It has little martini glasses all over it, so cute! Plus, my bouquet will be various shades of pink flowers and I think it will tie together nicely. No pun intended!!!

Guestbook...
Opinions, please!!! I am still torn about what to do for a guestbook. I have been tossing around several ideas and would love to hear what you think. These are the three:
1. Traditional guestbook where guest signs name
2. Photobook made using pictures from our church and venue (and maybe one or two of me and the honey thrown in, probably black and white pics) where guests can write a note anywhere
3. Coffee table book of either the town where we are getting married (if there is one in existence) or of where we are honeymooning (likely Greece)
Help! I can't decide. Options 1 and 3 are definitely less time consuming than putting together a photobook, but I have heard great review of Blurb and think it is probably easy to use...

Weekend Plans...
Happy Friday everyone! So glad it is finally here :) We are going up to Westport tomorrow for our final pre-marriage counseling session, woo hoo! Then we will organize the ceremony and start picking church music. Good times. It should be a pretty full day tomorrow and hopefully the weather holds up. Have a great weekend!

I See Dumb People...
I try not to vent too much on here, because who really wants to read that? Please indulge me for a minute. I stop at Starbucks every morning for my morning fix. It is highly necessary for me to function. I love the Starbucks I go to. I bring my own mug and they know me and I'm usually in and out in a few minutes.
This morning, the line was about 20 people long! A little unusual, but it was moving fast. Ok, so I am third from the front of the line and the man ordering is just standing there taking his sweet time. Doesn't seem to notice or care that there are still 20 people behind him! The barista asks what kind of milk he wants in his hot chocolate and apparently he can't understand the concept. Then he is staring at the drink board trying to figure out the rest of his order. Dude, get out of line and let others go before you if you don't know what you want! Then, he almost took another guy's drink at the end of the bar! I really can't stand clueless people who think the world revolves around them! Uugh... Hopefully Friday gets here soon!

Ribbon...

I am using ribbon in different places in our wedding. The bouquets, cocktail stirrers and favors to name a few. This is one of the ribbons I'm going to use. Can't wait until it all comes together!

Happy 4th!
I hope you all enjoy your 4th of July! I'm thankful to live in a country where we enjoy such freedom. Many thanks to all the men and women who protect those freedoms every day!

Special Delivery..
Look what arrived on our doorstep yesterday, our first wedding gift! It is from a dear friend and former co-worker. I made my fiance sit with me and open it together. He was hoping it was some sort of electronics or gaming system (nice try honey). It is one of the Cuisinart buffet servers from our registry. It's fabulous!
ps. Real nails won out by a landslide! I was actually leaning in that direction to start with. We are thinking about an overseas honeymoon and I kept thinking about how ragged my nails would be looking halfway through our honeymoon. Thanks for your feedback!

Real or Fake?
Ok, get your minds out of the gutter! I'm talking about nails. Maybe it is just a Jersey thing but I still see a lot of ladies getting fake nails for their weddings. I have worn fake nails before (acrylics, tips and wraps or whatever they are called where you are) and usually wear them very short. I'm torn. Should I just get a regular manicure on my natural nails or go for the fake nails? What do you think?

Monday, Monday...
Hi friends! I haven't posted in almost a week, yikes! Nothing wrong, just life getting in the way. Had a busy weekend which included my godson's second birthday. He and his twin turned 2 on Sunday and their parents threw a fun party at their house. My fiance was the hit of the party with the older kids because he was throwing them into this bouncy thing on the lawn. It was cute to watch. He learned the hard way that what you do for one kid, you do for them all! Have a great Monday!

Can't Pick Just One...
One of my favorite bloggers, Vineyard Vogue, just posted some of her favorites from her wedding registries. I'm stealing her idea and doing the same! I really put a lot of thought into our registries and really like everything on them. Here are a few of my faves from our Williams Sonoma registry...

Dads and Dinner...
Another rainy Saturday? Uugh! It is gray and wet here in NJ! We have some plans this evening to take both of our dads and step moms out to dinner for Father's Day. It should be a nice evening.
I took the day off of work yesterday for my hair and makeup trial. The hair & makeup artist came to our place and it was such a nice time. First off, she is really sweet and talented. I was a little shocked at how much makeup I had on at first but she assured me that it was not a lot at all. I mainly wear foundation, powder, mascara and some lip gloss to work so I was not used to all the makeup! However, as she was doing my hair I was staring in the mirror and really liked how my makeup looked. It was just getting adjusted to it.
My hair came out well too. I have to get some more layers cut around the front to accomplish the style I want, but am confident that it will look great! And the countdown to the big day rolls on! Happy Saturday everyone :)
