Snowpocalypse, Part 2?
I prefer "Snow-a-pallooza", much nicer than Snowpocalypse. Funny how everything has to have a name these days. It's not just 2 feet of snow, it's SNOWPOCALYPSE! Anywhoo, NJ is supposed to get another foot of snow late tonight into tomorrow. Should make for a fun commute. Jealous that my friend in DC is snowed in and her work is shut down. DC is just never prepared for snow. I lived right outside of DC and we had a snowstorm once with about a foot of snow and everything came to a grinding halt. I say we send some of the snowplows from Jersey down to the nation's capital to dig them out!!!

Love or Hate?

I have a serious love - hate relationship with these shoes. Part of me can see them being rocked with a cute dress and another part of me thinks they are totally hideous. What do you think?

Snowed In!!!
New Jersey is getting hit with a pretty good amount of snow today. We are basically snowed in and I'm loving it so far. The snow is just beautiful to look at and I love snuggling up inside. I hit the grocery store after work yesterday to pick up a few necessities and I think I will spend the day doing a few things around our place and watching movies with the hubs. Enjoy your Saturday!

Buh-nanas...

Seriously. Channeling a little Rachel Zoe with that one! But seriously, how fab is this J Crew bracelet? Valentine's Day isn't that far away. I wonder if my incredible, amazing, handsome, smart, sexy, funny, sweet (am I laying it on too thick?) husband is even reading my blog anymore?

Frigid Weekend Fun...
What a weekend! I went skiing for the first time ever this Saturday! The hubs has skied a bunch before and has always asked me to join him. I was a little scared but decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. I took a beginner lesson and even though I fell down a bunch of times I did have fun trying. It was pretty cold outside though!!!
Last night I made some homemade chocolate chip cookies with my new mixer. So fun! I wanted to start with something simple just to get some practice and I can tell you that I will be using my mixer as much as possible. Have a wonderful week!

Wedding Thoughts..
I have been posting wedding details on and off since we got married in the end of September. I really enjoyed planning our wedding and made myself crazy with tons of little details, which I wouldn't change! I was inspired by this post at A Practical Wedding and it got me thinking a lot about my wedding again.
My wedding was spectacular. Not because of the dress, shoes, venue, food, music or any other detail that I obsessed over for months. It was spectacular because my husband and I were surrounded by love the entire time as we made a vow to one another to love, honor and cherish each other for a lifetime. We danced the night away with friends and family and as the evening came to an end many of our guests gathered in the lobby of our host hotel to spend time with one another. New friendships were formed that night, which is just wonderful.
There were some very important people missing from our day. Some have left us permanently, some are serving our country and one was having her baby! However, we were so blessed that practically all our guests traveled for our wedding. My aunt flew in from Germany, family friends came from Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut and my fabulous bridesmaids came from all over the eastern seaboard. As I look at our pictures over and over I'm reminded about just how lucky I am...

Reception Tables...

I wanted to use natural colors for our reception tables. I rented chocolate pintuck tablecloths, which were great for our reception and really gave a lot of depth to the room. The Inn at Longshore was a private estate at one time and the ballroom used to be where the indoor pool was! The Inn had recently renovated the ballroom and the carpet has lovely chocolate swirls in it which worked perfectly with our color scheme. Our centerpieces were green and white hydrangea with bells of Ireland and lemon leaf mixed in. So pretty!
I wanted simple favors so I bought small kraft bags from Garnish and filled them with Ferrero Rocher chocolates. I found a fabulous etsy seller called Sticker Me Chic and had custom stickers made to go on the bags. She also made the custom stickers that I put on the tags for our out of town boxes. I used a smaller version of the green and white ribbon that I used on my bouquet and out of town boxes on the favors. Just folded over the top, punched two holes and thread it through to make a pretty bow. I'm so happy with how things turned out!

Hearts...

Valentine's Day is still a little while away, but I could not resist posting these bowls I found at Pottery Barn. How cute are they? I bet they would be a great addition to a Valentine's Day dinner table. We usually stay in and cook on Valentine's Day, but I'm not sure what we are doing this year. It will be our first married Valentine's Day! Are you sick of all the "first married" this or that already? ;)

Bridesmaids Bouquets...

I really love how our wedding flowers turned out! The bridesmaids bouquets were all green made up of spider mums, bells of Ireland and hypericum berries all tied up with a brown and white grosgrain ribbon. Here is a great shot that our photog took as the girls were lined up before the ceremony...

Advent Calendar...

Growing up we always had Advent calendars, the simple cardboard or paper ones. I saw this Advent calendar somewhere in the blogosphere (sorry, can't remember where to give appropriate credit!) and I just had to pick it up. It's still available for $19 and it is so cute.
Make sure you enter the giveaway, deadline is tonight at 8pm!

Anchors Away...

I mentioned previously that Santa was very good to me this year by bringing me a wonderful gift of a Kitchen Aid stand mixer (which I have yet to use but plan to break in over the next few weeks). He also brought me these lovely little earrings by KEP designs. Love them!
